4/25/2022 :: Nestling Update
Unfortunately, the nestling that was the fifth and last egg to hatch did not survive the weekend. By Sunday morning it was motionless. Later in the day the resident female (48/AE) removed the carcass from the nest box. Though this is an unfortunate outcome, it was not unexpected. Often the last hatched young are not fully developed and are unable to compete with nest mates. This is the how the natural world functions, the stronger get much of the food ensuring their survival to perpetuate the species, in this case, the peregrine falcon.
Softball anyone?
This is also Tuesday TIDYUP of the pictures in/on The Laptop - these are from LAST weekend- not this past one -
