Okay, Mom is going to try and share what she remembers from Sam's phone khall Sunday evening.

Please keep in mind, it had been a rough day to end a rough week. The bright spot of it all was the FURRY FURRY FURRY khute khanines she transported in MY Xterra. (I've had her inkhlude the link again in khase woo missed seeing the SEVEN short videos and the sixteen pikhs). All but one of her passengers went to their furever homes Sunday night...and the one that didn't have one yet had a few furry good pawtential homes!

We hit the bed around 10:30 - Mom usually doesn't sleep well Sunday nights to begin with...but she was trying...the phone rang at 10:44pm. Mom saw it said Sam...she hoped it was going to be fur THAT reason...and it was!

Sam said they had an organised search pawty from about 11am - 7pm that khoncentrated in the area she was pretty sure he was in. She stayed in one spot and the others worked the other sides towards her.

Once it was khonkhluded, she went home to take khare of a few things befur heading bakhk out again...armed with his favourite treats. The day my mom helped bring his north, she had taken the bag of Khanine Kharryouts that Joey and Zeke had sent me for being their 100th post winner! Laska LOVED them! Mom thinks he would have akhtually jumped IN the Xterra fur them!

Once Sam realised it was him she saw and heard, she spent some time luring him in...tossing one as he got khloser...then another...each time throwing them khloser and khloser to wear she was...until finally he was "there" - that one she held onto and made him khome fur it...and that is when she was able to khapture him! If we rekhall khorrekhtly, she said it took like twenty minutes or so!

(KHYRA'S MOM HERE: I really must apologise for my lack of clarity with regards to recalling the conversation. I was just so excited, relieved, and drained Laska had been found that I really kind of went into emotion overload. Honestly, I've not yet cried about it...so many tears were shed prior to his recovery that the tank is diminished BUT I know a good cry of relief is in the works)

Words khan not begin to explain how much we owe to evfurryone's pawsitive thoughts, prayers, woo's, and MORE!

Believe it or not, we had akhtually gotten khaught up on blogs before bed Sunday night but have fallen behind again...please furgive me! Monday was spent with telling the story to all that needed to hear it along with a few other things.

On my transport Sunday afternoon, I saw a truck that was THIS carrier:

Whilst on I-81, just after noon, I heard THE Pink Floyd song that brings me to tears each and everytime I hear it...and knowing how much I wish a certain Siberian was here, I had such a crying release...and kept picturing my phone ringing with a call from Sam about Laska.

I am happy to report THE PUPPIES and WALDO helped cheer me up a bit. They brought an instant smile to my face. They all represent the good things people can do. If not for the special fosters in GA and NJ nor the drivers on the legs from GA north to NJ , they would not have a chance to touch lives.

Here is the Photobucket link for the album of pictures and videos from their trip. This was the first transport that Mary was responsible for monitoring...I think she gets a fluffy tail up from Khyra for her hard work!

Whilst uploading the pictures to Photobucket, I popped open our Google Reader of blogs to see what had posted since I hit the road just before 11am. Well, once I saw this one, I had to read it even though I knew it would make me cry again (or is that still). By now, I know many of you have been to Huskee and Hershey's blog to say something to their special mom Shane ...if you haven't, please do...she needs - well, I'm trying to find the words for what we can give her, offer her. I really don't think they exist...and I feel so helpless and hurt for her so much. To want something so badly yet it turn out as it did...well, I had my own conversation with the sky on Saturday. That conversation resulted in the same tears I'm shedding now.

I had hoped to start the week on a better note...now I'm just hoping to put June behind us. July has to be a better month...it just has to...it just has to...

Mom is taking the Xterra to Hagerstown to fetch THESE KHUTIES . Akhtually, the puppies are khoming North this weekend and their momma is expekhted to head North in a few weeks. On the road 'as we woof' right now. She won't be getting any video of them enjoying a walk/etc fur they are young and to be kept in their khrates to minimise the exposure to any nastiness along the way.

The transport also inkhludes a year old retriever mix named Waldo (aka FUZZY WUZZY). Mom will share some pikhs on Monday. Mom is being lazy right now. It has been khwite a long emotionally draining week. We are still trying to get through the blogs. We've made some progress in the past days. Again, we might not get the chance to khomment but we reading them.

PeeEssWoo: Since I'm a yappy barker and not a howler, I khouldn't pawticipate in Mason Dixie's HOWLIN' FUR DAKOTA but I'll post this one fur the khause. As I shared the other day, I did get to share a REAL sound with her...and not my snappy bark. Sometime Mom says she'll try to khapture it(my bark). Summii's Mummii has heard it and it surely 'memorable' - HA!

Mary was the furst driver fur Laska. She was the one that alerted the rest of the drivers that they might want to tether Laska during their legs. He was trying to hide under things. In fakht, he initially tried to hide under her Navigator. She felt fur his safety it might be prudent so he didn't try to work his way under the gas pedals!

Mary has been working as diligently from her end in North Kharolina to help get him bakhk to Sam. She khould see the special khwalities in this furry wonderful boy! She desperately wanted to give him a hug befur letting the next driver depart but Laska was still khwite unsure of himself and things. Mom keeps reassuring her that many of the hugs she got to give him were fur her!

NOW, here is some furry enkhouraging news. Mom sent Sam and Mary a link to my Friday post...and they've been reading the khomments as well as seeing some of the other posts fur Laska! Here is what Sam replied to Mom

I was SO close last night. I had put an ad in the paper that ran yesterday and i had a call that he was spotted in someones yard yesterday morning playing with her 4 year old son!!!! I ran right over as soon as I got the call (about 4pm) he was seen at 10am. Searched until 9pm, then had to go meet an adopter for Bella. But i set up a havahart trap for him before i left. I couldn't leave food as there is a bear that lives around there and it would just attract him but I left my shirt in there and a trail of my scent leading from the woods up to the trap. Then after I was done with Bella, I went back out searching. I put some of my towels over the trap so he would feel more secure and more of my scent would be there. I searched until about 11 and then headed home. On my way, my sister-in-law called me and said she just saw him IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD!!!!! He's trying to find me :( I was literally seconds away from where she was when she called. I said, I'll be RIGHT THERE!!!! I searched until 2 am.......nothing :( But i remain positive. He is getting closer to me!! I WILL FIND HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Isn't that wonderful?

The new Harrisburg University for Science and Technology has been a favorite haunt for the fledges. The building has many wide ledges at different levels providing easy access for the birds and great viewing for University staffers. As we move through June and into July there will be less happening at the nest ledge. For the falcon watchers on the street the action has just begun. The birds are getting flight and hunting lessons from both of the adults. Soon they will take their show on the road and fly with the fledges up and down the Susquehanna River Corridor. These corridors are not only watercourses to the Sea but also bird migration pathways and will forever signal prime feeding and breeding habitat to the Peregrine Falcon

I talked to Irinas animal communicator friend for almost 3 hours last night. She is positive he is coming home!!! She told me to tell everyone I know to picture him coming home surrounded in gold (because she says some people are frightened of him and the gold will help that) She is so sure he will be returning. I cannot wait!! I will NEVER give up!!!!

For those of you who dont know, Laska, a recent rescue dog of mine, ran away from his temp foster home on Sunday. He was to be returning to me on Monday and ran away on Sunday :(

I am asking everyone to please visualize my Laska coming home surrounded by gold (helps to make people less frightened of him). I spoke w/an animal communicator last night. She says I need to tell everyone I know to do this. She is positive he WILL BE FOUND! Please everyone, if you could do this for me, I am begging! I will be doing a search party this sunday. If you are in the area and would care to join, please let me know!

Mom wrote Tommy to share Sam's message...and he wrote bakhk that #1 had added some hovertext to the pikh...please be sure to notice that when woo look at the furst pikh on the post!

I do need to share something that happened to me Thursday morning. Mom and I know Dakota khame by to see us.

I was out fur my sekhond AM trip and fur some reason, Mom khame out with me. Normally she just hooks me up and opens the door fur me. We walked out into the yard and I began to 'stalk' like I saw a tasty snakhk (KHAT), a bunny, or my furiend the deer I saw Tuesday AM...I khontinued to slowly walk towards the edge of the property whilst wagging my tail AND staring intently at something. Mom kept expecting to see an animal of some kind but nope...NOTHING there...then I stopped and let out a few 'were/whir' sounds all the time wagging...something I rarely EVFUR do. After a bit, I ceased the noises and looked at Mom.

That khwikhkly, the moment was gone. And so was she to visit others as she made her way North.

SO, please do what woo khan to help get Laska home safely!

Walkin' Wednesday 2009

With some weeping thrown in...

Furst off, as I get this post together, no news on Laska(he's the furst one listed on available pets with LOST) ...no sightings or leads as of now.

During the khourse of the day on Monday, Mom exchanged assorted emails with many many people...one hooman from NJ furwarded it onto the newly formed North Jersey Siberian Husky Khlub.

They are trying to get a search group together...perhaps even try to lure him with a female. Even though he is neutered, at this point, anything is welkhomed.

Fur those that asked, he's been listed on at least a dozen or more sites ( Mom's not khapable of khounting right now) fur lost pets.

I've tried to visit your blogs...and will khontinue to do so but might not get the chance to khomment. I know woo said it okay BUT Mom is a Virgo and they just don't like NOT getting things done.

Mom really had a diffikhult time of it when we went out fur the last time Monday night and by the time we got up to bed, she was really leaking. She kept thinking of Laska being outside not knowing where he was and what he should do. He should have been inside and on the bed with us.

To say we are touched to have seen all of the posts mentioning him (as well as JB's brofur Bear) just blew us away. We knew the khommunity was supportive...we knew we had helped paw our own good words when others needed help, but this was kind of our furst real exposure to what it means and how it just makes woo feel all warm, fuzzy, and leaky.

All this energy has to be finding its way to New Jersey..to Laska...to help get him home safely.

Let's get them both home!
