Tuesday Telling

AM at The PF Palace -
 ...and dinner time -

A bittersweet post on The Falcon Wire
6/22/2020  ::   Falcon Watch and Rescue Concludes
The 2020 Falcon Watch and Rescue concluded on Friday, June 19. Unfortunately, the third juvenile went missing, and after two days of extensive ground and rooftop searches, this falcon has not been found. It is still possible, though unlikely, that this falcon may turn up on his own. It is a disappointing end to the 2020 Falcon Watch and Rescue, but it is important to remember that after brief stays at the rehabilitator, two of the juvenile falcons have successfully fledged. In the 20 years that peregrine falcons have nested on the Rachel Carson State Office Building, only a handful of young birds were lost during the fledgling period. In fact, since 1999, 73 falcons have originated from the 15th floor ledge. This success rate surpasses the average survival rates of peregrine falcons through the first year, which has been estimated at only 40 percent.
This success rate is a direct result of the commitment of the Falcon Watch and Rescue volunteers. For 2020, 41 volunteers put in 826 hours over three and a half weeks. Despite challenging conditions, including COVID-19, our volunteers did a wonderful job. Volunteers can hold their heads high knowing that intensive effort went into trying to locate the missing bird. DEP is very grateful for the dedication and efforts of this great group of falcon watchers!

SUNday Little excitement - actually, she was resting up for her Auntie Di -
 SUNday afternoon -
 Zzzzzzz -
Another buzz into The Hive day -
 I chose to eat inside - and had #9 #9 #9
The soup was Cheesy Khollieflower - as tasty as last week's broccoli  - I do think khollieflower lent itself as a better cheese complement - my sandwich was THE HORNET
roast beef, onion, provolone, tomato, horseradish mayo on rye, topped with a gherkin pickle
- and I chose one of their spritzers - LAVENDER! -
and half a Hornet to go ;-)
Another winning visit!

Today I have THE GROOMER for the first time since late February - actually, save for my bangs, my furs have  been behaving - but YES  - so ready!

Happy Tuesday EvFURRYone!

We have never had cauliflower soup and that one sure looks yummy to us as well as the Hornet and the lavender spritzer. Happy Tuesday!
