3/27/2020  ::   Egg Count
Four it is! Clearly, 48 A/E will not be laying any additional eggs for 2020, and four does seems to be her normal amount. According to the Cornell School of Ornithology, peregrine falcons average between two to five eggs with a single brood per year. Eggs are pale creamy to brownish, dotted or blotched with brown, red, or purple. Incubation averages between 29 to 32 days. Eggs typically measure 2 inches in length and between 1.6 to 1.9 inches in width. Upon hatching, the nestlings will be covered in whitish down, with eyes closed, weighing about 1.5 ounces.
