And some watchin' too!
6/11/2019 :: Falcon Watch and Rescue Concludes!
With all four fledglings, Red, White, Blue, and Yellow flying well, it has been determined to conclude the 2019 Falcon Watch and Rescue. DEP staff will continue to monitor the birds and look forward to watching as their flight skills improve. An exciting development for 2019 is that three (Red, White, and Blue,) of the recently fledged falcons have been outfitted with Motus units. The Motus Wildlife Tracking System (Motus is Latin for 'movement') is an international collaborative research network that uses a coordinated automated radio telemetry array to track the movement and behavior of small flying organisms. Motus tracks animals (birds, bats, and large insects) affixed with digitally-encoded radio transmitters that broadcast signals several times each minute. These signals are detected by automated radio telemetry stations that scan for signals 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. When results from many stations are combined, the array can track animals across diverse landscapes covering thousands of kilometers. The model the Rachel Carson State Office Building falcons are fitted with have a battery life of 500 days. This project anticipates gathering vital information that will shed additional light on the movements of young falcons during their critical first year.

Holly says I should learn to snag HER WHOLE TAIL!
Got it!
Yep: TOAST!!!
Napping to help with the digesting of said toast!
It has been a rough khouple of days in Dog Pal World - first the news Tuesday morning that Murray's pal - CLIVE - had gotten his wings - Clive had such a life and helped Murray to have a life PLUS - they did so much together - so - so - much - this picture was from a few years ago - Clive's Blog isn't out there anymore but I did snag this from Murray's Mum's FB - and here is Murray's Instagram page
AND to further the sadness, Biloxi's Maw - had posted about the seizure monster trying to take Biloxi - and within a few hours, her post updated us to say it had - he was gone -
You will forever be in my heart my sweet happy Biloxi. You were taken too soon. I will miss our walks and you looking up at me with such a happy face waiting to give me kisses of which I will miss so so much. I will miss your talking. I will miss you pawing me when you wanted something. I will miss you sleeping on the bed with me at night. It will feel so empty. I will miss everything about you. I am so glad you came into my life for I have loved you so much. You are now a whole dog again running free through the heavens. To lose you is very very heartbreaking but to have loved you was the best thing in the world. We will be together again North of the Rainbow Bridge. Until that time sweet boy I LOVE YOU!!!!

Too many blogging pups have left us recently. Did you know Faya the Airedale who lived in Switzerland? She passed a couple of days ago and also Tess of the Laurerdales in Australia. When we started blogging, Denise and Bryan had 4 Dales - Noah, Willow, Tess and Lucy. They're now all together @Rainbow Bridge.
It has been a time of such sadness. So many wonderful friends, so many old friends...
