So, it would seem as if we did get some snow!
FrEYEday night I was dreaming of those SNOWballs -
Mom was THRILLED to see this -
And even MORE thrilled to be able to see THIS view - she shot this from the kharport after she FINALLY made it home to us - I'll let her tell her story below -
I went furst to make sure it got my FLUFFY tail of approval fur Holly -
It was - but we deemed it too deep fur THOSE kind of things - so
I knew Mom would say it was okay - thank dog and praise cheeses fur a khovered patio - 'nuf said!
Yep - as of NOW - around 6pm Saturday - we broke the rekhord at HIA - 28.6" of snow -
That is where the 'official' figure is measured -
As I mentioned above, Mom has some tales to tell - I'll let her do it!
Hi There All!
Yes, Khyra is CORRECT - I did have some fun on Saturday - I got up a bit early to evaluate the situation - I thought about shoveling out from the carport but the amount of snow - and type of snow - was such I knew I could drive The Xterra thru it - so about 540 off I went - well, once I hit the street, I was kindasorta stuck - but I gave it another try and made it on to Cottage - decided to do the longer route out to George Street then up to hit I83 - top speed was 3rd gear/40mph - and was doing well until I was just beyond The GKP Building - and the exit ramp - a tractor trailer had gotten stuck - but a wrecker was just about there to free him - I was almost to work by 6am - but due to the delay, swiped in at 630 - to find about a fifth of the staffing had made it - I think we had a grand total of 25-30 bodies! Due to multiple circumstances, a decision was made to call the shift - and the others left by 930 or so - I stayed and tried to work on the 8700000000 things to do - but after getting a text from Steph telling me about her trip to East York - including the ending of getting stuck two blocks from home, I contacted one of the managers who had provided me with his number before he left - I told him the situation and that I was going to leave - he was fine with that -
One of the supervisors had been kind enough to move my vehicle close to the door - and positioned it such I SHOULD have been able to make a clear exit but many inches later, that was NOT happening - with help from two others, we finally freed me after an hour or so - THEN I began the fun part - to say I was driving blindly would be an understatement - I used some very creative styles - and was OH SO CLOSE - as I turned on to our street, I GOT STUCK - 2/3 on Cottage - 1/3 out on George Street - luckily the woman on that corner - the one with the holiday decorations we featured in our Christmas Day video was blowing their driveway - she came and helped get me free - I shoveled - she blew - she sprinkled KHAT litter - and let me park the Xterra in their driveway - it is there until the township comes back for our development - this meant I had a two to three block walk - the first part was easy - George Street was 'clear' but Sunset then Cottage were thigh high without tracks in most spots - I must have been quite the sight - briefcase totebag and shovel - with a fall or two here and there - and please know if you fall down in deep soft snow, it is quite the challenge to get up - the driveway was the hardest part - I had visions of being found with garage door remote clutched in my fingers mere inches from safety - and throughout the day, I was asking TADN for some support and help - I did lift my first glass of AGJ to her -
Holly and Khyra were SO good - and so knew something was just not right - they took turns all night being 'there' - not letting me out of their eye range for long -
SO, I'll have some shovelin' to do Lucy - but thank dog and praise cheeses I made it -
If you are having any of the same fun from 'Jonas' PLEASE BE SAFE -
Happy SUNday EvFURRYone!

I know you like snow, Khyra, but this was probably a little to much of a good thing? Your Mom's adventures were a little bit scary. Glad she made it home safely through teh drifts. Hope they clear your road soon.
