As many of you know, October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month As we've made our rounds of The Blogosphere, we've seen it mentioned and even the inclusion of some programmes in areas around the country.
Here in York, The B&B Khyra came from has a SafePet programme to help with our local shelter ACCESS-YORK
I understand all too well the dilemma posed with situations like this. In fact, when a previous employer had charity contribution times I always made my donation to ACCESS-York and stipulated it be for the SafePet programme.
I would like to thank Khyra for letting me have some extra time on her blog this week!
She'll be back tomorrow for THAT day of the week!

You do look quite happy and comfy now that the sunshine is back. It was 70 here today so I hung out in the basement on my mattress where it was cool.
What a great thing your mom is doing! Lots of people don't think about the pets on those types of situations. It's nice your town has something for them!

Sun yourself and grab some rays fur us cuz we ain't had no sun in lotsa' days.
Our momma knows about that domestic violence thing an' how awful it is and how imPAWtant it is to have a place fur the fuzzy kids when a momma has to leave the security of her home. Our shelter will take the dogs an' cats to keep them safe. All they ask is that the momma donate some of her time to the shelter in return cuz we know that sometimes those momma peoples don't have much money.
It looks like you are really enjoying your sunshine, Khyra. We have it here, too. I am so glad that there are groups who take care of the fuzzy kids, too, in cases of domestic violence. Too often we hear of cases where the violent person takes it out on the family pet.

In Canada the SafePet program is administered through the Farley Foundation. The vet we go see has a month long fundraiser in October for them that we support.

Isn't it wonderful to have some sun! I love sun bathing too. Of course, here in Malaysia, it's pretty much sunny all year round, except on days when it rains.

We have MISSED YOU SO MUCH!!!! Mom has been so busy trying to find a job and getting things taken care of with unemployment, and the blog, and insurance and all that other cruddy stuff.
