From The Falcon Wire

06/1/2020  ::   Another First Flight
The second of the three young peregrine falcons made several flights on Sunday, May 31. For a moment, this falcon's location was unknown. Later, after some tense waiting by the volunteers, it reappeared on the 8th floor of the Rachel Carson State Office Building (RCSOB). Just before dark, this falcon came to the ground and it was necessary to conduct a Rescue. Successfully transferred to a wildlife rehabilitator, this youngster was treated for mites. Generally assessed to be in good health, there was some concern over a possible concussion. Therefore, this falcon will stay at the rehabilitator for a few days of observation.
The young falcon that first fledged is now flying very well. The Watch and Rescue crew are anticipating a midair food transfer from one of the adults to this recently fledged youngster.
The third, and last of the birds to hatch, has yet to attempt its first flight. We suspect that this will occur possibly as soon as today. Stay tuned for additional updates!

Yummers! I love looking out my door too, Holly, and watching the neighbors go by - especially the ones walking dogs. They never get by without me having something to say to them☺

Thanks for sharing all the great photos. That sounds like a really delicious sandwich. Never had a grilled cheese with pumpernickel bread. It looks yummy. We hope you are having a beautiful day. Have fun.
