Monday Memorial MOMday

 Khyra's Mom here today

I missed posting for 7/15 but knew today would be acceptable - or at least I hope so!
Khyra and I will be sad as we look across the street and see the empty space in the backyard - that is where Khyra's Bernese Mountain Dog boyfriend Baloo lived - we don't have many pictures of him as the two of them were always LOTS of motion when we encountered them on our walks - usually every night - as soon as he spied her, his khanine body language went into full swagger and he turned on his charms for her - and she went into full Khoy Khyra Mode for him!

Last week, his mom told us she had an appointment for him - he had just seemed off to her - more so than just being related to the weather - as we went for our Monday night khamp walk, we saw their minivan and were ready to wave at it - Meg had the window down to tell us she had just come from the vet - they suspected he had a mass that might be bleeding and they would be operating on him - of course, the hairs on my arms raised along with THAT feeling in the pit of my stomach - the same activities I just experienced as I pawed this paragraph - I so hoped what I feared wouldn't have to happen, but it did

I've not gotten to talk with her but a neighbour on the other street told us the news Friday night as we took our walk - he asked if we knew the lady that walked Baloo - I said yes - and KNEW what he was going to say - well, she had to let him go

He was only SIX YEARS OLD - just so wrong - I'm going to hold onto the last GReat memories I have as we met up with them last weekend - he SO loved MERDIE! - I mean, he would blow off Khyra to go sniff and greet her!

I recalled I had a video - and a blurry picture - in the Photobucket I had put together for Dodi The Belgian Malinois transport I did - that was a special one since she got to come here and spend the afternoon until her next driver could meet us at one of the Harrisburg exits for The PA Turnpike -

Here is the video of the very handsome Burned Yeast Mountain Dog - and the blog post about the transport - which also features two of those OTHER Belgian types!!!

Run Free Baloo - we'll miss you - it makes me wish I had more pictures of the fun times you and Khyra enjoyed!

I'm sure everyone knows the face - The Look of Lennox - and one of the few times in my life I am truly without words

Throughout the entire saga, I couldn't bring myself to say anything - I couldn't believe it was happening - I couldn't grasp the entire scenario - I couldn't envision the wrongness of it all - yet I kept wanting to believe it wouldn't end as it did - I kept thinking they would have some moment of lucidity - and in the end, release him  to someone even if they wouldn't return to his FAMILY - but once again, ignorance won

As I prepared to put this post together, I tried to find a link to include - but decided just to use the Google link for my search

Unhumans failed you Lennox - but in the end, they will get theirs as Karma doesn't forget

Until then, we'll continue to try and  BE AND BLOG THE CHANGE FOR THE ANIMALS

Hugz&Khysses from Khyra's Khorner

P.S. Khyra will return tomorrow - she asked I be sure to tell of you she had a good long walk on Sunday without THOSE Golden Khousins of hers!

We are sorry to hear about Baloo. If someone offered the muzzer a Bernese in trade for me, she just might take them up on it. Sending Khyra lots of terrier kisses to make up for one from Baloo.

Poor Baloo. It's never long enough, but cancer is so cruel...

Baloo was a handsome dog and it's sad it came his time to go.

As to Lennox, what transpired with him was total insanity!

We're so sorry to hear about Baloo. We can't really say much right now since those feelings have come up again. Mommy's re-filling the OR inland ocean.

Horrors, Khamp Khyra closed before we got Lightning there:(

Soft woos and gentle hugs to Baloo's family - so very sad, so sudden, and so, so young.

We were sad to read about Baloo. Sometimes life absolutely sucks.

As for Lenox, Belfast City Council can hang their heads in shame.

Here is hoping for better news.

Woofs,
Tommy

PS: Fernant's family has returned!

We are sorry to read about Baloo. Please give his family our sincerest condolences.

We were very upset about Lennox too. Those unhumans (we like that term)will surely have some bad karma coming their way.

I am so very sorry to hear about Baloo. Way too many are going to the bridge way too early this year. :(

I posted about Lennox last Thursday and a "thankful thursday" post. We worked FB, petitions, emails to government officials here in USA and in Belfast, we tweeted re-tweeted and in the end BSL won and Lennox died. I hope you visit my blog and read that post. I had some nice compliments about it. ANd also for my July 15 B4TC post, take a look, it is very uplifting (pun intended if you read it you will know what I mean MOL)
