Orange is now respectfully laid to rest on 100 acres of bermuda hay fields. Having been in the medical field for over 30 years rest assured she did not suffer. God bless Rodney my hay man he offered to help. Orange now is at rest in NW Arkansas under a grove of beautiful towering oak trees near a ridge top with breath-taking views you can see for miles. God bless you Orange and may you rest in peace
Asked how it happened, here is the response from FB: She On the Freeway, it was instant, I am sure she was in the middle of a running stride and next stride was over Rainbow Bridge and into the endless fields playing and frolicking amongst all Gods creatures. Sadly Orange escaped from her temp foster when she was being loaded this morning for transport. As soon as I heard I came up to help search for her
SO MOM AND AUNTIE DI DID THE LEG TO ALLENTOWN FUR ORANGE
MORE ABOUT THAT TO FOLLOW
******MerdieA blur fur sure!**Mom had dropped me off with my Sibelings prior to going to get the passengersAuntie Di got to meet Thoryan - he impressed her too!
Now I will let Mom have the post - there are LOTS of pikhs both here and in the Photobukhket since Auntie Di took some pikhs enroute along I83/I81/I78!Jack and Diane
Oh wait, that's a John Cougar song ;-)
Jack is a five month old Brittany pup - he's headed to RI for NE Brittany Rescue - his weekend started in TNIzzy - she's an older Doxie-Blend - she started out in NC - she's headed to NH for Libby's Haven for Senior Canines - what a great passenger she was! My sister could so see what a great companion she would make for an older person too - she was an excellent lapdog that enjoyed being stroked!Marcy - she's a three year old Brittany mix - her Saturday started in NC - she's also headed to RI for the New England Brittany RescueMarcyMeet Alex - the one that stole Diane's heart - he's a six year old Brittany who hit the road Saturday from SC - he met his furever furamily Sunday afternoon in New York - good thing he was already spoken for - otherwise I think Diane would have had to buy another seat on that flight back to The Blast Furnace - he was part of the National Brittany Rescue and Adoption Network
It was funny - when I first told her of the transport's passengers, we expected she'd fall for the puppy - but in the end it was Alex that stole her lap!AlexAlexAlexI'm sure you see why he did!Jack recharging his puppy batteries!Alex resting up to meet his people!Alex and IzzyIzzy decided to rest like Alex was!Marcy was quite the interesting combo - part of me thinks she had some Berner or something like that in her - she didn't have the size but she surely had the colouringAlex and his lap!He had beautiful eyesChecking out the scenery along I78Alex Diane and JackDiane did THAT a lot!Jack pondering lifeIzzy pondering as well!Upon arrival at the Wawa off Route 100Marcy Jack IzzyMarcyJackIzzy Alex MarcyAlexThe old and the young both looking towards their new lives!Jack and Izzy getting ready to head to the next stop! The Charm did it again!
Grab a beverage before you start enjoying the Photobucket Slideshow - as I mentioned above, we did this one for Orange - it was quite sad Saturday night to see the posts about her - we knew right away we'd do this for her - we were already doing the run with a shoutout to Stumpy and Company for their awesome contest and contest winner Wyatt- it was only natural since S&C are currently AZ residents - like Diane - of course, Stumpy and Stumpy's human will be headed back East 'soon' - we try to get Diane to come back to 'Pawsylvania' too but I think the heat has fried her brain and somehow convinced it is 'normal' to live like that!
Here is the SLIDESHOW LINK; and here is THE LINK TO THE ALBUM which includes six videos!
Thanks again for the support as well as thoughts for Orange - it is sad when we lose one before it is time
Hugz&Khysses from all of us 'khurrently on Khyra's Khorner'Alex says all's well that ends well!

Merdie always looks so happy! She's such a sweetie!
Khyra, you are so beautiful and we hope had a great time with your Sibelings!
So many adorable passengers for the transport! We can see why Auntie Di fell for Alex cause we did too! We fell for them all actually - such sweet dogs!
It's so sad about Orange but it's nice she's been respectfully laid to rest in a big ol' field where she's probably frolicking every day over the Bridge!
We are so sad about Orange and glad to hear she did not suffer.
We too are in love with Alex! What a cool woofie!
xoxo Cory (and Grete too!)
What a very special post! Khyra, you really have a wonderful mom who helps so many people and dogs and all animals! We will be back later to watch again the videos. It is very sad about Orange and we know he she is having a great time at the Rainbow Bridge now. Brittany Spaniels are great doggies and a dog named Alex is really special to mom. She's posting a tribute this week to her Alex. Thank you for all that you do!!! Lots of love, Holly and mom
You always deliver so much good news, and Orange aside, today is no exception. Speaking of Orange, RIP sweetie - it was far too soon for you.
So sad about Orange. *sniffles* Love the pics of Merdie enjoying that toy! Sounds like another successful transport and more doggies heading for wonderful forever homes. Yeah!
Mom's a sucker for the 'senior' doggies, and was quite taken with your Mom's old passenger! It is sad to hear about Orange, but definitely a fitting place for her to run free.
*kissey face*

What gorgeous passengers you had today (including Sister Diane!) I thought Alex was especially handsome, well, they all were!
Its always good to see Merdie at Camp Khyra. I bet Khyra had a great time with her Sibestas! Keep up the good work, Phyll, we are all proud of what you do.
Kisses,
Stella (and Jo)
What a great group of passengers!
Sorry to hear about Orange.
Have a good week and stay cool!
Wyatt
Love the Merdie pictures with the stuffed animal!...Beautiful Khyra!...So many gorgeous transport babies, they are all adorable and Auntie Di looks very happy to be along for the ride!...Condolances for Orange=why wasn't she on a leash?...Very sad...Hope you all have a happy week, sweet friends...xoxo...Calle, Halle, Sukki
Oh my. That Alex is one more handsome puppy! If you can, please let us know how he's doing at his new home!
All beautiful pups in the transport!
I like seniors too. We rescued my dog before Layla when he was about 13 years old. My next rescue will also probably be a senior.
It's sad about Orange, but that sounds like a beautiful place to be buried. If she really didn't suffer, she probably was enjoying life to the fullest (running full speed) at the second she crossed over the Rainbow Bridge.
I hope your Auntie Di comes back to visit you soon. Next month there's a big All Star tournament that most of the dogs we train with are going to - right in York, PA! Too bad we won't be going, it would've been nice to see Khyra Khountry!
Sorry to hear bad news about Orange.
And glad to see you have many new buddies.
Nice woooh
Sally
Hi Khyra,
Ahhh, a Merdie fix!! We're happy pups now!! :)
Hey, FH fell hard for Alex - all the doggies are adorable but FH just flipped over Alex's freckles, too cute! (You've got a great photo where it looks like Alex is balancing a shed on his head, he he he!!)
We're glad that Orange has such a beautiful place to rest furever now, it's hard for the humans when we have to go to the bridge but sometimes we need to be running free with the wind.
Schnauzer snuggles - JD and Max.
Orange is running freely and happily on the other side.:) Merdie looks like she's having fun with your Khyra doll. What a group of cuties on the transport today.:)
Love,
Teddy Bear
Such sad news about Orange, RIP xxx
What a handsome group you had this week! Jack is a gorgeous dog! We just love his freckled snooter!
Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch
Poor puppies, you look so warm!
What a great transport inventory!!! Mom fell in love with Jack, but they were all really so sweet. So sad about Orange, but she is happy and free now.
Hope you had fun with all your Sibelings. Too hot here for much of anything other than snoozing.
Woos ~ Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara
I am glad little Orange did not suffer. But it still makes me sad.
Alex is totally adorable with his freckles and whatnot.
Slobbers,
Mango
P.S. Thanks for all the good thoughts. They sure helped with Momma's mentals.
We are so sad to hear about Orange :'(
We love the pics of the transport, those pups are just so cute!
Pugs & Kisses,
Yoda & Brutus
Poor Orange! Glad you did a transport yesterday to help all those other Brittanys. Looks like Aunti Di had so much fun!
Fingers crossed that the latest female PF stays safe!
Rest in Peace sweet Orange. A heartbreaking story.
What a lovely batch of transports! Jack is soooo adorable.....I would easily fall for his puppy face!
I'm so glad you had another successful transport! What a sweet bunch of passengers! Orange certainly did a beautiful job of watching over them!
Bunny
We did a double take when we say marcy's picture! I thought, "What the heck is alf doing in the XTerra?" Thanks for the shout out!
Beautiful dogs, all of them! So cool that your sis.aunt was able to make the journey.
Khrya,
Such sad news abouts Orange :(
All the doggies today are so wonderfuls, thanks for sharing thems with us!
Woofs and Licks,
Maggie Mae
It always makes us sad when a dog goes to the Rainbow Bridge. Loved you pics and slide shows.
Misty the alpha Poodle
Poor Orange ~ we are very sad. At least she has a good place to RIP.
All the pics are lovely today.
So sad about Orange, but we loved all the other "spotty" pics!
Hi Merdie!
Looking good, Khyra!
So sad about Orange. Hope she is having a good time playing over the bridge.
RIP Orange!!!
Happy new life for these lucky pups...Marcy is a beauty!
Hugs to your mom and Aunti Di,
~K
Do you dream at night about all those sweet dogs you have helped give new life to? Looking at all those dear faces, I think they'd keep flashing through my mind...
On another very impawtant topic:
Your guys will be meeting our guys at Busch Stadium tonight and for a few days...
Wirey woofs,
The Barkies' Mom
Now that is one CARLOAD of happiness if I ever did see one.
What Most Beautiful, Sweet passengers you had! Mom has always said that one day she'd like to have a Brittany. In fact, if she hadn't come across me at that adoption fair place, they might have one right now. Whew! I'm glad my guardian angel directed her there that day!
I'm very much sad abouts Orange. But I hope she's having lotsa fun finding lotsa birdies at the Bridge.
Wiggles & Wags,
mayzie
It is sad to hear of Orange. May she rest in peace.
Those passangers are so adorable! Glad that your Auntie D was able to go along fur the ride.
Sam & June
We have a real soft spot in our hearts for Brittany's. i had one when i was a teen ager, her name was Rusty. She was a great girl.
We are so sorry to hear about Orange. It is so sad when something happens just when their lives are ready to move up.
Thanks for helping all of the rescues move on.
Mogley G. Retriever
I'm swooning over Alex's freckles, 'squee-ing' over Merdie's antics, and shedding a tear over poor Orange. Run free, sweet girl...
Love,
Kathleen and Cloud
A lovely bunch to transport. So happy they are all going to good places!
It is very sad about Orange, but we bet she is happy over the bridge.
Merdies' sure getting after that Sibe stuffie. Is she working off some frustrations?
Mom worries so much about me getting hit by a car. Even though there's like 30 doors to go through before I can get outside. Knowing that Orange didn't suffer is good.
And she had the burial of a queen!
PS: When you get the time, could you drop by my bloggy and help a pooch in need??
PSS: Could Alex be getting a new home with Auntie di? BOL!
Sugars,
Mack
Geez Louise, how do you fit it all in, amazing.
So sad for Orange.
Hi Khyra
Remy and Flash
Coming over and snoofing Meowm would help, we are certain. Maybe whapping her with your floofy tails will help too. She says that I have a Laborador tail, but I am certain it doesn't really compare.~~Junior
HIYA KHYRA AND MERDIE!!! We are sorry to hear about Orange. We've missed you guys and hoping to be back regualarly this week! Mom is considering a glass of wine tonight...if your mom wants to join her about 8-ish...LOL
So very sad about Orange - heartbreaking.
I laughed - I'd forgotten about the shop called "Wawa" in Pa. I used to live near one. What an odd name.
In one photo, it looked like Merdie was playing with a Khyra toy. The toy's head looked just like Khyra.
Thanks for taking care of all those dogs and showering them in love for a day!
Can't get over poor Orange. It only takes a second ....
Alex is a charmer, the Mom has a crush on him. Something about him reminds her of Fenris.
We are glad Orange didn't suffer. So sad that she didn't make it to her forever family though.
Poor Orange - I saw your post on FB and was hoping for a happy ending. :(
What a great little crew you got to transport, though - all I can think about is how happy they will be when they get to their forever homes. Thanks to you, they're one step closer!
She does look part Berner. Good job again Phyll!
Very sad about Orange. :(
But what cute passengers you had. Keep up the great work. :)
Orange could not help but look from the Other Side of the Bridge and be so pleased at your tribute transport. So many lives, so much promise, so many happy hearts. We are glad that Orange found a peaceful final resting place and that she did not suffer.
We love you because you and your momma are always helping lots of doggies! That is pawsome!
Kisses
Rufus and Indie
Poor, poor Orange. Some of us never know that life is about to get much better.
But you know we so look forward to our Monday does of lives getting happier!
Hi Khyra & Mom,
Mom we are now friends on facebook!!
I love your blog. You know I am on dial up right? It takes at least 30 minutes to load your blog page!! That's how much I love it!! I love what you do every Sunday too!! Thank you for all the lives you touch!!!!
XXOO, Fern
What cute kids. I would want to get dropped off too if all those kids were getting in my ride. What a nice tribute to Orange
Benny & Lily
So very sorry to hear about Orange, but glad she is now happy in heaven.
All of your transport pups look so sweet! And Auntie Di makes a great rescue navigator.
Kat
We are sad to hear about orange, but so glad those dogs you transported are on their way to their forever homes. That Marcy kind of looks like a drever dog, mom thinks those guys are super khool looking. Moms iPad doesn't speak your language and it is always trying to fix mom's typing!
So sorry to hear about Orange.
Sounds like you really had some pawesome pawsengers on this trip. I would have fallen for Alex, too! :)
So appropriate that you should transport these Brit & brit x's in memory of Orange - beautiful dogs! But I think woo should have adopted Jack, he's a cutie! And that's such a great name fur a dog, don't woo think?
We're gonna keep our eyes open cause since they came here to RI, maybe one day we just might see them!
Jack & Moo
Thanks for sharing Orange's story with us. (sob)
Look at all those pawsome passengers!
P.s - is dat a mini khyra doll merdie's playing with?
Cheers,
Maxx
My mom transports quite a bit for NBRAN so we really enjoyed the stories. So sad about Orange. Merdie looks so comfortable.
