FrEYEday SkEYEday With Some Sadness

We send our condolences to our friends in Columbus, OHIO for the loss of their nesting female on Thursday - it was a rough week for them - as one of this year's fledglings was found dead earlier in the week - here is the link to their blog so may read more - I borrowed this pic from that blog - in particular, from the post announcing her death -
******
Flowers fur FrEYEday
Andrew and Rocky have their eyes on us!
Khlosed AND Open
Life is good!

Here are some portions of the note Amy sent to the reskhue list email group:

Rocky is doing well! He got a clean bill of health at the vet's office. He is very attached to Jay and I (particularly me) already and is doing well with my dogs and Andrew. My cat...not so much...lol.

On Friday, I will have fliers to pass out to the community announcing Rocky's rescue and inviting them to his celebration. Let me know if you can help to distribute.
Thanks again for being so wonderful! Rocky is one of the most obedient, loving, sweet dogs I have ever met...and he's still up for adoption if anyone is interested! :-)
Here is the info on the event...if anyone can bake for the celebration (doggy & people goodies), let me know.

ROCKY IS HOME!!!
Thanks to an amazing community effort, Rocky was found June 28th off of Lackawanna Avenue.
Please join us to celebrate Rocky on
Sunday, July 11th 10AM - 1PM.
Jake's Place @ Rockledge Garden Center
1621 Hamburg Turnpike
Wayne, NJ(973) 694-8117
Looking to Adopt? There will be adoptable dogs at our event.

Don't forget to bring our sweet Rocky a present! He will give lots of kisses in return!
Mom and I are planning to go - she wants to see Rocky again and give him khysses - we also want to see all the pawesome people that helped make this all happen - we also want to see Amy again so she khan REALLY meet me - we know last weekend was one giant autopilot blur to her - she had written to Mom that she felt so badly to finally have people she'd only emailed and/or spoken with under such circumstances - she so wanted to share a khup of khoffee and a hug but the urgency and stress of Rocky's Run-a-bout didn't pawmit that!

It turns out the street he was found off of was the khross street to MY stakeout khorner as we were at the khorner of Lackawanna and McBride!

We had hoped to have received one of the fliers to inkhlude in the post but they weren't khomplete by the time I had to put this together - Mom did see the furst drafts of it - she's looking furward to the finished produkht!

SOOOOOO, if woo are near Wayne NJ, khome on ovFUR and meet Rocky - AND ME!

Some phloof fur your FrEYEday
A smile and a shadow
More phloof of khourse!

This week's panormaikh shot disappeared on us and since it was the last pikh on the post, Mom was SOOOOO not going to try and slip it in - we'll run it on Saturday but here is this week's PHOTOBUCKET SLIDESHOW LINK

Happy FrEYEday!

Hugz&Khysses,

Khyra

PeeEssWoo: Our GR had bred like rabbits AND skhwirrels - we had to go to bed earlier than usual on Wednesday night so we didn't get a chance to khlear out Wednesday's - and then Mom was away from the laptop most of Thursday - we are wading our way through - we'll get to 'em but might not get the opportunity to khomment on all of 'em!

We haven't been able to get Rocky out of our minds. Not only are we happy he is safe and learning to enjoy love and trust, we are thrilled to know that he brought so many dedicated, committed, understanding and loving people together. These four-leggeds really are a strong common bond ... and we feel so glad to be a tiny part of a wonderful community that cares. And truly understands. We are so glad there will be a big celebration, and even MORE glad you'll be there for it. We'll be thinking of you ...

With so much appreciation,
Jake and Fergi and Family

It is not an easy life for those wild birds. I am sorry to hear that one did not make it.

As for Rocky, yikes, I thought I was seeing Tula for a moment. So happy for him. I hope he settles in to his furever home and never wants to wander again.

We hope you enjoy the Rocky celebrations - what is wonderful is that not only is Rocky safe and well but that so many good humans got together to help find him.

On a happier not, it is so nice to see Rocky settling in, safe and sound. I only wished we lived closer, but there are so many critters that need rescuing down here right now.
Now Khyra, who was that doggie sleeping with her feeties up on that wall like me?

But gosh, the rest of the postie was so happy! I can't wait to hear all abouts Rocky's celebration. Mom JUST realized that Rocky was found on her birthday (she's a teensy bit slow sometimes) and she thinks that might be the bestest birthday present she ever got!

I knew about the Col. P.F. butt wasn't going to say anything to you beclaws you have had such a stressful week already. Butt, now that you know... they said on Columbus news channel that they believe the poor little thingy had some sort of physical problem that prevented it from flying. The nest mate DID make it successfully and is doing fine.

Rocky looks fantastic! I hope he gets a great home soon.

I also hope that I'm able to make it to his party.

That's so sad about the PF. I read their blog - it's very interesting. So, so sad though. Especially about the baby and why it wasn't flapping :(

The location where they found Rocky (Lackawanna/McBride Ave) is literally around the block from Pat's Mom's house. At least our vibes helped.

I also like the picture of Khyra in the corner - Layla lays the same exact way. I'll put up a picture tonight.

Hi Khyra
We went and read the whole story about the falcons. The story is so sad. I know bad things happen to animals , but it is hard to hear about it, and much harder to see.
We feels sad when a little birdie falls out of the tree too.
We are still so happy about Rocky and I can just feel the happiness that will be at the party.
It is so good to see you Khyra- your pretty face, makes me smile
