Saturday Sharing - The Cirkhle Of Life Edition

Furst off, the panoramikh shot we lost from FrEYEday's post
******
Now fur the sad part of our post fur today - Mom says prior to reading further you should get some tissues - you WILL need them
Please meet Gracie
She was Rocky's Guardian Angel -
I will let Mom tell the story

Thanks Khyra - yes, I would like to think that Little Gracie was Rocky's Guardian Angel from across The Rainbow Bridge

Gracie was to have been on this past Sunday's transport - she was a six month Siberian Husky puppy - surrendered by a young owner that wasn't prepared for what adding a Siberian to their life required - so they gave Gracie the promise of a better life and surrendered her -

Unfortunately, it wasn't meant to be - I got a call Sunday morning whilst in Harrisburg with Jett and Anton - if you watched their videos, you heard me get the call -

Gracie has crossed sometime that morning between 4 and 5 am - a necropsy was done to determine the cause of death - at first it was thought it was due to complications from her spay - which had been done the previous Wednesday - but the results indicated it was Parvo related - it has worn her system down sufficiently to compromise her healing from the spay - she couldn't fight it off -

As soon as I heard the news I knew what Gracie's job was now meant to be: she was to become Rocky's Guardian Angel - the angel that would help guide him - help show him it was time to end his Run-A-Bout so he could get ready for the wonderful chance at furever happiness that she wouldn't get to have 'here' -

I guess since she was just a pup, she hadn't quite found the voice she needed to use to convince Rocky it was time - so it took until Monday for him to hear her message and realise he needed to do it for Gracie -

SOOOOO, with many tears, we thank you Gracie - please wear your little silver harness with pride - knowing you made a difference even if you didn't get to do it 'here' - one day, all of us will get the chance to thank you for the opportunity to share the following pictures

Here are some more pics of the incredible RockyThanks GracieFor letting us have the chance to see this awesome Akita strut Thanks to Chris for being the first one on the scene Monday afternoon (AND FOR SHARING THESE PICTURES)Thanks to Amy for showing the power of never giving upAnd for sharing your winning smile!

Here is the link to a Photobucket slideshow of Chris's pictures she shared with the Rocky Rescue E-Mail list - she had zipped them into three files - I asked if I could create a PB album of them - obviously she said YES!

As we were building this post, I meant to include two pics from our Road Trip Sunday post from June 27 which showed about where he had been hanging out and waiting for Rocky's Angels - I did go update the two pics that show just how close we were to him - actually, when Amy and I saw him on the move that morning, he was probably heading there!!!Khyra and I would like to share all these flowers with all involved - either in the search efforts OR with support 'here'

Rocky was indeed a lucky dog to have so many angels looking out for him. We know very well here that many escaped dog stories don't end so well. Hopefully Rocky will be able to start life as a pet in his very own home soon!

Thank you, Gracie! Run fast and free sweet girl!

Rocky is one handsome dude! Stumpy wouldn't throw him out of her kennel for eating milkbones in bed.

I am so saddened by sweet little Gracie's passing. I'm going to go out and give my five babies another great big hug and kiss each. It is wonderful that Gracie's purpose it seems was to "guide" Rocky home...he too is beautiful and looks so happy to be home in the photos. I need to go now...the tissue box is calling...thank you for sharing this. How very precious our furbabies are, no matter how short or long we are blessed to have them in our lives. May you all have a safe, happy weekend.

You were right - I needed several kleenex, and Layla needed a gigantic hug after reading about Gracie. Or maybe I needed to give her a gigantic hug. Either way.

That was horribly sad, but I guess she was extra special to have to be made to cross the bridge at such a young age. I'm glad she was able to help Rocky.

Very sad news about Gracie. She is a dead ringer for what our Phantom looked like as a pup before he lost his mask. We are so sorry her life had to be so short.

Rocky is so handsome and deserves a wonderful home - here's hoping the right one comes along soon.

All of the preparations were complete and we so anticipated being "adopted" by little Gracie!
How quickly anticipation of her arrival turned to great sadness when we learned of her passing last Sunday morning. Gracie would have so loved it here with her Sibe sisters, Saki and Misha - both rescues themselves - waiting to welcome another little soul into their lives. How grateful we are for all the condolences we received from folks we've never met! Gracie was indeed a special little Angel - even in death she was able to help another find his way. You were never physically here with us but you are sorely missed. We will meet again sweet girl!

Your post took me back to a sweet pup that I had a few years ago that was diagnosed with parvo after her spay. She made it, and became an inspiration to everyone, just like Gracie.
I'm glad that Rocky is doing well--Another answer to a prayer!! I hope you're having an enjoyable weekend!!

We were saddened to hear about poor little Gracie (especially since it reminded of us of our sister, Gracie, though, praise God, she didn't leave earth, just our home) We are happy that she had someone to love and care about her while she was here and know that she is doing a great job where she is now.

Rocky DOES look happy in these pictures, too! The CC Pups
