Tuesday Telling

Nap time
Khloser look
Saturday morning's fun
Brofur decided to watch from his skhwirrel blind
Which also doubles as a birdbath
We're not sure if the evil khritter realised he had some khat eyes on him
Or just didn't khare
Brofur stayed fixed on his prey
But at one point I barked out some words of support
And Brofur took off and the evil one took up a new pawsition in the tree

We are bummed: Merdie and her dad are staying at their house this week. Unkhle Paul seems to think he's able to handle being by himself. The Doggy Nanny wasn't too please with his decision AND I told Merdie evfurryone would miss getting to read about our adventures!

Oh well, hoomans khan be a challenging breed!

Wow - I'm amazed that the cat didn't chase after the squirrel! That is some self-control!

Lorenza said...

Hi, Khyra!
Yes, why Brofur did not go for that squirrel??
Sure I hope your uncle will do fine at his home. I know Merdie will help him!
Take care

I am bummed too.
Unk Paul needs to change his mind- cause everyone made friends with Merdie . And we loved all those adventures.
What can we do- besides sit and stare at squirrels?

peggy and The Cats said...

Khyra - your brofur is very well camouflaged in those pictures. How close did he get to the evil squirrel?

Aww, no more Merdie? That's bittersweet. It's nice that Uncle Paul is feeling better, but I'll miss seeing that pretty gal every day here on the blog!

Mom loves to see pictures of you because you remind her so much of Dad's first dog, Sheba, who was a husky mix. She looked just like a husky, but was a bit smaller... Maybe 15 lbs. smaller than a normal husky size, and one of the smartest dogs she's known!

CATS!!! How COULD he let that squirrel just mock him like that!!!

We are so glad that you uncle is feeling well enough to try to go home even though we know you miss him and Merdie. We will miss seeing her too! At least they know they can count on you and your Mom if they do need a little more help. OC

MAX said...

Hey there Khyra
We loved watching the squirrel hunt!! It got the adrenalin going.
Well, it's good that U Paul is feeling better, but you obviously enjoyed their company so much. Im sure they will be around again soon.

The Thundering Herd said...

Khats can be so much more patient than us. We just blindly charge.

Uncle Paul sounds a little like Sibs - a little stubborn and independent. Our hu-dad understands from his own back surgery recovery a few years ago.

Mango said...

In my experience, some people make impatient patients and think they are more better than they are. I hope that Merdie keeps close watch on your Uncle.

The OP Pack said...

One of these days, .....that squirrel is going to be caught. Brofur is luring him in.

Uncle Paul - silly decision - much better to stay with Khyra and Mom, good food, walkies, great company - we will all miss Merdie too.

woos, the OP Pack

Hi Khyra, I think Brofur needs to get one of those scary Howloweener masks that are on sale now. That might make the squirrel move to another state. Just not OHIO, ok??
I will really really miss Merdie. Maybe she can get a blog of her own???? Hint Hint

KB said...

Brofur fit right in with those leaves - I could barely see him. The squirrel was almost as big as him! Great sequence of photos!

I bet that Uncle Paulie is ready to be by himself. And, it'll be good for him to feel self-sufficient. I wouldn't mention my ramblings about fusions to him yet - maybe later when he's starting to feel good. That's when it becomes important to be super aware of the rest of your back.

Gus said...

We hope Unkle Paul and Merdie are doin' good this week. Did you offer to cook lunch if they stayed with you? They might like sqrrrrl stew.

I can't imagine a 39 year old guy, who wouldn't want his mother and his sister taking care of him after surgery. lolol or maybe its the other way around!

I will miss Merdie's beautiful face too, but she gets to come visiting now and then.

You are looking pretty today!

Angus Mhor said...

Awww, I will miss Merdie. I missed her while mom was gone, and now she's back and Merdie's goin' home. Phooey.
Khyra, I'm surprised that Brofur didn't lay down the paw on the furry-tailed tree rat. So close...

We wonder why Brofur didn't go after the squirrel...we would have definitely gone after the squirrel! Do you know that there are now 2 cats that "hang" out near our yard? We are not happy about it.

Those squirrels are a brazen bunch! They think they got it made just cuz they can scoot up a tree real fast. One of these days though, I'm gonna get me one if I have to grease the tree with well, grease.

Glad your Uncle Paul is well enough to go home-and I hope it goes well for him.

I will miss your waves while you travel north!

Humans CAN be so stubborn! But at least Merdie is there to watch over him. We just hope he doesn't overdo. Your squirrels are very, very brave...or incredibly stupid!

What was that cat thinking! The tree rat was begging for it!!

Sorry Merdie and your uncle have gone home. We hope he keeps getting better and better.

I am going to keep my paws crossed for your sick furiends and I hope little Winnie has a great life.

That is one crafty squirrel blind. Your brother is pretty smart... must run in the family!

Gracie said...

Looks like the purrrfect day to be outside and catch some rays.
I would say that the squirrel was pretty not too smart to be so close to you. I hope that he didn't tease you after he took the chicken way and ran up a tree. They sometimes like to tease.

Jan's Funny Farm said...

Sorry Merdie and Uncle Paul went home. Guess you'll miss them. Course, they'll probably miss you too.

BeadedTail said...

Brofur was sure intent on watching that squirrel. Good thing you prevented an ugly scene by barking!

We do miss Merdie and hope she is taking good care of your Uncle Paul.

What fun cat/squirrel adventures!! Just make sure they aren't in it together Khyra...Be careful!!

Hi Miss Khyra
what is brofur doing? I don't get it.. stalk, haunt, ready to pounce.. then zip zap nothing. Do I need to come over and show his what to do!

Lovely napping under the tree... but not with merdie. Tell merdie to visit more often. But that was good news Uncle Paul is getting better.

Mochi and Mommy said...

That squirrel is gonna get it sooner or later!

We're going to miss Merdie, but I know she's going to take good care of Uncle Paul!

The Bumpass Hounds said...

Uncle paul is being selfish. doesn't he reaklize the merdie is a celebrity to be share with her public. Afterall, she is one of that special breed of dogs, the name slips our mind, that is perhaps the most intelligent, talented and beautiful in the world. No, it isn't the Carrie Underwood breed, but it is two words. It'll come to us.
