Millions of Americans with disabilities rely on hope to get them through each day; hope for a breakthrough; hope for gaining or reclaiming independence; and hope for a friend. Each year, hundreds of them find hope at a handful of organizations across the country that train assistance dogs for people with disabilities.

The new primetime PBS documentary, Through a Dog’s Eyes, follows the life-changing journey of recipients as they go through the heartwarming and sometimes difficult process of receiving and being matched with a service dog. Jennifer Arnold, founder of one of the nation’s largest service dog organizations, Canine Assistants, shows her unique teaching methods and lets viewers have an intimate look at the canine-recipient matching process. Jennifer’s science-based philosophy shows how with a little patience and a lot of love, an “ordinary” dog can show how extraordinary he/she can become.

Through a Dog’s Eyes, set to premiere on April 21, 2010 at 8pm ET/7pm CT (check local listings), will have you seeing dogs in a whole new light.

I wonder if they know what a pawesome spokesdog I would be fur their produkht?

Hugz&Khysses,

Khyra

You would be perfect for that job! But wouldn't you rather spend the week with a peanut butter jar? :)

You had a wonderful time with the PB jar! I looked at your transport for Sunday and what a beautiful girlie you took to a new furever home. I love dogs with freckled snooters, don't you?

Three cheers for you and your Mom doing good things for pups!

Kisses,
Stella

Dear Khyra, it looks like you enjoyed the PB! I liked the first couple of photos of you in the garden - you are very fluffy and beautiful! I like how your coat almost has a stripe pattern on your back.

I have to go read about your transport trip now, that is so nice of your mum and you to do good things! Hooray!

The show sounds great..if only we'd get that show here! I'd love to see how they train and match the doggies with the humans *grins* Three cheers also to your Mom for her great dedication to transporting the doggies to their furever homes!

Work it, Khyra! You're so lucky, you got to clean the PB jar. Mommy never gives us the jar...I guess since there is just one jar and two of us. So we settle for chunks of peanut butter off the spoon.:)

You realy enjoyed that jar treat. Great pictures. I also think you would be great for that job. Funny thing is mum is waiting for pictures to arrive about a very similar thing. At mum's work they pick a different charity every year to raise money for and a couple of years ago we bought an assistant dog. We have just got an update and pictures of where he has gone. Great minds think alike.. Sorry we are not keeping up as we should but mums is on a course and ts exams today, plus not well..
