Their first morning wearing their big bird bracelets - all part of helping their 'breed' stay healthy and watched - unlike some avian sites and cameras, PA does NOT name them -
I think they were SUBTLY letting a parent know it was dinner time!!!!
There is a public Facebook Group for The PA Falcon Cam and Blog - one of the posts included the Band # Band Color Weight Possible Sex
So for this year, we have
Blue, who is gigantic. 910 grams, band 54/CA, female
Green, 690 grams, band 55/CA, male
Yellow, 570 grams, band 56/CA, male
Silver (was Red, but the tape appears to be already gone), 800 grams, 57/CA, probably female.
Actually, none of the genders are absolutely positive - we didn't do any tests to determine sex. I'm pretty sure about Blue, Green & Yellow, but Silver could be a surprise waiting for us. 800 grams would be a biiiig boy, but not unprecedented. I'm pretty confident Silver is the youngest, based on feather development, so when the feathers come in and we start seeing big wingflaps we will probably get a better idea. Boy wings and girl wings are even more distinctive than feet are. In a week, we'll know more!
Heading to 7pm - 77 - SUNny - a bit warm now but another good night for my high school's gradudation - actually THAT temp was my year 😎
Enjoying some time now that we had gotten Auntie Di back to her in home health staff -Doctor Emmy - and she is using her snoofer to check where a small dead mouse was removed by me -
Back at The Khottage - I made sure to compensate Doctor Willow for her attention to her patient Auntie Di -
Knowing she would be in good paws with Doctor Emmy, Willow relaxed - and looked forward to her 'ventureS ahead -
Auntie Di thanks all for the wishes of healing support - she's napping a good bit - we did go to lunch with her on FrEYEday -we'll be sharing that here tomorrow - and we'll be visiting today after we finish with brunch and a Mad Radish visit for our CSA!
Happy Saturday EvFURRYone!
