Monday MOMandMEday

Two from The Doggy Nanny's blooms

Khousin Ab helping to drive bakhk to Phoenix - she pawed some skEYE shots we'll share on FrEYEday
Around dinner time, a storm khame through - I headed to my safe zone in the laundry room - Angel Merdie liked it here during storms so I've made it my place to go if the storms arrive whilst we are on the furst floor
It was short lived BUT it did ruin my Sunday walk time - it had been TOOOOOO hot after Mom got home from The GKP - and then too wet Sunday night - oh well -

Now to let Mom tell her tale of the wet tail she snagged Saturday night - take it Mom
Thanks Khyra - here is my Zen-terra khargo for this weekend - this is Darby - ironically and coincidentally enough, that is the town in PAWSylvania I was born in - one can almost see the Philadelphia city limits sign from the hospital
This sweetie was SO much like our fluffy tailed princess - great vehicle manners - watched everything - and the patented trademarked CAN'T CATCH ME unless I want to be caught!

She and Khyra met - and got along well - I didn't get any pictures of them together - sorry - Darby was a bit shorter than Khyra - and more smudge along the nose - but even her snow nose pattern is much like Khyra's - it was quite the adventure and classic case of Fate - all the dominoes and cogs that fell and meshed for me to be THERE when she ran across the road - and for me to be able to keep her in my sight - and to have a piping hot garden pizza - well, you get the idea - let's just say, there were at least 87 factors that put me THERE at that moment -

I was so afraid as I tried to lure her she'd bolt and/or get hit - and when she turned to trot down the long lane back to a house way off the road, I thought that was it - private lane and all but I decided I had to do it - and since I knew the family that lived there was actually related to the woman that owned and bred and showed The Scottish Deerhound that won Westminster a few years ago, I KNEW they wouldn't object - as I reached their house, I thought I had lost her - but as I did a three point turn to head back out, I spotted her in a pond in their yard - so, out came the box of pizza - I placed it by the base of a tree - I tore off some crust and went over and sat on the stone wall surrounding the pond and tried to wear her down - she was lapping in the water - as well as cooling down - I mean, our heat index was 100+ - she would look at me and consider it but in true Siberian fashion, reconsider - so I tossed the crust in her direction when she got out of the water - she went to it - and once she decided she liked it, she wanted more - so I had her come towards me - she even sat for a bit - and I let her take it from my fingers - I got another piece - and this time, I let her lick my fingers - then offered her the piece BUT grabbed her collar - I was just THRILLED!!!

Now, it was a matter of 'so I've caught you, what now'! - I knew I couldn't keep her here with having to go to work on Sunday - so I made a call to place where I knew she would be welcomed and taken care of until I could locate her family - she had a tag on but it was worn so much I couldn't make out enough of it to contact them -

I checked Craig's List Saturday night - and Sunday morning before going to work - no posting - I knew if they were worthy Siberian humans, they would be looking for her - I would be keeping my eyes open for postings on line and listings in our newspaper - as well as other resources -

SO just before 5pm Sunday, I spotted her on Craig's List - it had been posted 10:41am - called the proprietor of her temporary Bed and Biscuit - her humans were contacted - and by a bit after 6pm, she was HOME - and her posting removed from Craig's List

She had been gone for two days - turns out she did live in the area where I spotted her - they missed her so much - and were so afraid she had been hit or worse - she was three years  old - even goes to the vet we used for our family pets - and the one Darby's overnight caretaker uses - they did get some advice to get her a better tag - and even an offer to watch her if they would want to go away -

I think the entire 'hunt' took about thirty minutes - to say I was relieved to finally have the leash on her collar would be an understatement - having played 'the game' with Khyra a few times - okay, a dozen times - I KNOW the panic - and I KNEW I had come too far and too close NOT to khapture her ;-)

Although we hadn't planned to use these words in this post but

RESCUES ROCK!

The transport rivals 'Whitney's' in length - this all happened a few miles from home - had I left The GKP at the usual Saturday evening time, I would have NOT been THERE for her -

Yep, things happen FUR reasons!

Happy Monday EvFURRYone!

You sure do rock for persisting in capturing the wayward pup. Thanks for sacrificing your pizza. We hope you did get to share a little with Khyra too.

That's great you have a nice safe zone for storms. Hope it wasn't too bad of a storm and that it all passed quickly. That was great of your hu-mom using every Sibes favorite treat - pizza! - as a lure. Very clever! You guys rock!

Khyra's Mom - You are a true guardian angel of all furry creatures. How lucky that dog was to have crossed your path, and I'm sure the humans were truly grateful to have their pup back home.

I love that Khyra has adopted Merdie's place for storm safety :)
