Your Monday Merdie/Merty Moment
******
I asked Mom to do Sunday's transport fur Charlie
and fur Digby and his furamily

Please visit Charlie's blog and see the furry nice post of gratitude his mom pawed to all of us
and as we paw this together, we don't know Digby's khondition - but that isn't important - what is important is drop by and paw some support

Now time fur me to turn this ovFUR to Mom so she khan tell woo about her pawesome passengers
Thanks Khyra!

For those of you that didn't check out Clay and Rosanne's Petfinder link on Sunday, here is the information we got on the transport run sheet about our three passengers (I did include the link again for anyone wanting to see why he's called Clay)

Rosanne & Clay (Siberian huskies) are a bonded pair that are being adopted together—Hooray!!! They were found last summer chained to a fence with no shelter, no food, no water... A rescuer tried to convince the family to surrender them, but the family was very difficult. So, the rescuer bought a dog house and took to it them, and they sold it. The rescuer called animal control. It took six months, but this amazing rescuer saved Clay & Rosanne. They were chained so they could not reach each other but once they reached the rescue, they have never been apart. After almost a year in rescue, they have found a forever home! Rosanne & Clay will travel from Wilson, NC to NJ and ride well together uncrated (such lovebirds!).

Ben was rescued from a GA kill shelter. This little Jack Russell mix was saved from certain death and is headed to his forever home. He will travel from GA to NJ and ride in a small crate.

I did the Hagerstown MD to Harrisburg PA leg - but it was not my standard routing! On my way south late morning, I noticed I81 traffic North was being directed off at Martha and Bailey's Scotland Exit - there was quite a State Police investigation underway just North of of the exit - this caused a backup all the way beyond Chambersburg - and given the volume of traffic I passed going South, I expected it to reach the MD line - although I had about an hour of time for it to clear prior to my returning North, I didn't want to take the chance of getting trapped and/or slowly crawling. I made the decision to head South to I70 so I could head East to Frederick and then take 15North past Emmittsburg MD, Gettysburg PA, and eventually to Dillsburg PA - birth place of Thor and Marco Polo - our Siberian pals that live in Iowa

I figured this would probably put me behind by 20-30 minutes - (which it did because I encountered one lane of traffic along 15N from just past where Route 30/The Lincoln Highway crosses over 15N) but I just couldn't take the chance...the driver I was to meet at the AMP/Earthlink Building phoned me and indicated she wasn't there 'yet' and could meet at a location along 15! We met at McD's just past where Messiah College is located
I had really wanted Ben, Clay, and Rosanne to meet those pups in THAT Earthlink/AMP Building but Fate ruled otherwise

Now for three fantastic passengersClay
Ben
Rosanne
Ben with Clay watching
Ben just chilling - actually, wishing he was chilling as it was muggy in MD!
Ben with Rosanne
The Charm!
Clay from behind my seat
Clay from behind the passenger seat
Rosanne
Ben did this almost then entire time we were on the road! He had come with a crate but most of us didn't feel the need to use it for him. When he first met Rosanne and Clay Saturday afternoon, he wasn't completely sure about them and was a wee bit overwhelmed but after spending their night at Casa Dalmatian in VA, they seemed to be quite okay with each other!
Ben
Rosanne with her BFF Clay
Rosanne was so shy - and still a bit unsure of what was happening but I kept telling her it would be okay - please trust me!
Ben STILL sleeping
After Route 15 went back to being two lanes again, I spotted this license plate: SNO MUTZ with a Siberian Husky license plate holder! Please BIGIFY for the full view!
At one of the zillion traffic lights in Dillsburg - which by the way is having its PICKLE FEST THIS SATURDAY!
Clay
Another light
Clay and Rosanne
Rosanne's plucking just before she hit the road again
Clay's pile - but I started late - I wanted Lisa to get back on the road for her leg to Allentown
plus I wanted their furever family to know THE JOY of Siberian Plucking!

What three special souls saved due to the efforts of so many associated with Rotts 'n Pups Rescue!

Here is the link to their Photobucket Slideshow AND here is the link to the Photobucket Album with FIVE videos

Khyra will be back here tomorrow!

Too cool - your Mom is Most Awesome! Hagerstown to Harrisburg, huh? Mom's old 'stomping grounds' (she went to high school in Mercersburg - and if you ever find yourself that way, she'd LOVE a picture of the chapel spire, BTW....). Most excellent passengers - and great pictures! BTW, if you want some snow, feel free to come visit!

We're glad Roseanne and Clay were rescued and are going to their home together. Six months to pry them away from those people, poor dogs -- glad the rescuer was so persistent! Really, if you want dogs, why would you keep them chained to a fence? It makes no sense!

I don't know HOW you do all the puppy transports AND the blog AND manage to get all the pictures!!!

You're pretty darn amazing! :)

Oh sweet Ben... I can only imagine what he has gone through. The pics of him sound asleep seem to me like he finally feels like he will be ok so he can relax. I am sending special hugs from Alaska to Ben.

I had read Clay & Roseanne's story. People are unbelieveable, but they too will have a happy ending with no more chains! Congrats on hanging in there with all the traffic problems! Another great transport. And it was nice to see Merdie!

We just love seeing the Mama Bird with her babies. It's so sad how some humans can be so inhumane. We loved Clay and Roseanne's story and are SO glad that their Rescuer never gave up.

hey Khyra,

Sorry I have not sniffed my way over to your blog in a while, but I see you still have your HUGE Heart of Gold! And you are just as gorgeous as ever, especially with your pretty smile at your "hidden" dog treat! And Merdie is looking lovely as usual!

Your wonderful mom sure had some pretty pups to transport! I bet is was hard for her to see them leave.

I will go and paw some woofs of support for Digby and Charlie.

So much in your post today Khyra - we started off by visiting Charlie who we did not know. What a very moving tribute - just as well we had tissues handy!
We are glad you are training your mom so well Khyra, the way she runs for that flashie beast when you show her the biscuit is commendable!
Your smile was her reward for doing what she was told!
We have said it before, your mom has the best looking passengers ever.
We are so glad of the good people who rescue, foster, transport all these dogs.
We both have found her home through such good humans. It helps our mum knowing there are such good people out there.
Lovely to see Merdie and her little human too.
Have a lovely day - it is a holiday in the UK today so no work- hurrah!
love and kisses

Reading about the transports and the rescues heading to better lives brings much needed cheer. We have been to Digby's blog regularly and the final verdict from the vet is dire, He has put up such a fight, and it is just too sad to see him lose it.

What sweet pups your mum helped, we wish them luck in their new homes. It is just awful thinking of how long those poor pups were changed up... and the other little guy, the fate that awaited him is horrible to think about.

We are so glad they were helped and can now have the homes they deserve.

Love seeing the shots of you and Merdie, the little birdie is very cute too! :)
