Friday Free Fur All - SPECIAL EDITION...

Due to the importance of this post, I'm going to post it as soon as I'm finished pawing it...
After I decided to make donations to the pets impakhted by the fires Down Under, I had Mom write Opy and Charlie's nice mum. After all, she is the Khween of DWB-land and I felt we should ask her if it would be okay AND what group she would suggest since she's there.
Here is the response we got Thursday AM...we asked if we khould post it here and she said it would be okay:
Hey mate, Sorry it has taken me a while to get back to you - as you know, things are pretty rough for us right now :( I went to a Community meeting last night that the Fire Brigade presented - and short of it was that we could find ourselves in real trouble Tues/Wed next week. The fire that is about 15km's from us is moving in a N/W direction - there is another huge fire up above that one. The wind on Tuesday is expected to turn around and hit from the North - this MAY join these two fires, and MAY bring them straight down through where we are :( We shall see - I don't want to be too hysterical about it all - trying to keep a calm head, but it is a little frightening.
So.....I am spending the next few days packing up some essentials - dog stuff, greg's computer stuff, clothes etc. Ready for next week - we will leave at the first sign of smoke - we am not equipped here to fight the fire, garden hoses will make no difference. Greg is due home late tomorrow night - so I will be very pleased to see him, that's for sure ! Thank you so much for thinking of us - and all the poor animals that are homeless/injured/displaced - it means so much.
I heard a story on the radio tonight that made me so sad - a lady who survived by sheltering in a wombat hole said that she can't get the noise of all the animals screaming as the fire came through out of her head. I just sat there and wept :( The RSPCA is the organisation that I would like to suggest - they are co-ordinating all the donations etc, and are a very reputable organisation and are doing a fantastic job. Their link is - http://www.rspcavic.org/campaigns_news/news_bushfires.htm Please prayer the weather is kind to us - we are at it's mercy at the moment :( Much love to you - and dear, sweet Khyra as well :)
love Brooke

SO, there woo go...WE NEED TO SEND ALL THE VIBES WE KHAN FIND TO KEEP THEM SAFE.
Huffle and her people have given Charlie and Opy strikht orders to grab the stuff and get their peeps to them. They are about an hour away in the city of Melbourne. It is khurrently not endangered by the fires.
******
Two khwikhk things befur I hit the road and head to judge BIS at MANGO Minster 2009. I have the penthouse suite reserved at a Motel 6. They are pet furiendly and will pawmit me to bring my humom!
ANYWAY, since I'll be out of town until late Sunday, the official drawing results will be shared on MONDAY. Fur those that mentioned in their khomment (wondering if they were entered yet), if woo left a khomment, woo are entered!
AND I want to apoligise if I've been missing from some of your blogs. Like the judges that do BIS at WestNOTMANGOminster, I will have no idea the khontestants fur each group. SO, I've had Mom take a glance to see if I khan or khan't visit your blog!
Be khareful out there...it is Friday The 13th...and there will be another one next month too!
Hugz&Khysses,
Khyra
PeeEssWoo: On a slightly cheerier note, please chekhk out Suzuki's blog fur a khool story about Sam The Koala.

I think it's great what you and your mom are doing Khyra.

Also, in the shop at the Animal Rescue site, they have a donation button for $25 to go to efforts in Australia (I don't have the link handy, but you can find it if you are one to click for the animals every day)

Our thoughts are with our friends down under. Though the Herd has not, our hu-dad has had the pleasure of working down there, so he has a special ache reading the Sydney Herald on-line everyday. Keep safe, our friends!

We've just been to Suzuki's blog and read about Sam, what a sweet story, aww :D But then we scrolled down and saw all the photos of the devastation and it's just so heartbreaking....everyone helping is doing the best they can and a great job, very brave people.

Thanks Khyra; we are hoping the fires die down soon but the weather forecast is not good.

It would be for a sad reason but I'd love to have Charlie and Opy here - their mum and dad have already fallen in love with me so I'm sure they will too.

Hi Khyra
Tahlia has done a Barkin with Bones post on my blog today and Mum made her post a new link about Sam the koala and her new boyfriend Bob. There is also a video. Thank you fur spreading the word about the Aussie Bushfires. Mum thought it was a furry good idea to make all the furry critters over here start wagging their tails to make the fires go away, we are going to start practising now.
Big licks to you

We are about to faint from all the vibes we are sending to Opy and Charlie. We also have a human friend in Victoria named Trevor that we are really worried about. This stinks so bad, but we have to stay positive and keep sending those vibes.
