A DEDICATION to DOOGAN

Sweet and gentle Doogan - an average-looking, large mixed breed dog; one of three in 2005 that needed new homes when their people went into a nursing home.  The people’s daughter worked hard to find homes for the three dogs - the one that resembled a Golden, and the small, cute one quickly found new homes… sweet and gentle, 5-year old Doogan, considered neither “pretty nor handsome” was left behind…until fellow rescuer, Beverly Trottier, heard his story;  she opened her heart and home, and for the next seven and a half years, Doogan lived with Beverly and a menagerie of furry friends; he was so very cherished.  Doogan was overweight, and Beverly worked to get him back to a healthy weight; because that extra weight was a big  burden for Doogan’s back legs - both had been broken early in his life when he was struck by a vehicle.  His original people got his legs fixed - one leg had to be fixed twice - the plate in that one caused instability and the leg always wobbled precariously.  Nonetheless, Doogan got along fine until his senior years, when his leg muscles began to atrophy; he began to experience a lot of pain and could not get up or walk alone.  Beverly made the difficult but right and loving decision to give him the precious gift of freedom.  Doogan crossed over the Rainbow Bridge at home on Tuesday, October 30, 2012, with Beverly at his side.RIP, sweet and gentle Doogan …run free from pain and infirmities; run, jump, and play with the companions we have loved that have crossed the Bridge before you… thank you as you help guide this transport team to help keep everyone safe as they travel the roads to deliver these three precious little girl puppies to their new beginnings.

Happy Sunday EvFURRYone!

Hugz&Khysses,
Khyra
PeeEssWoo: The Nice Bev Lady was foster to Gingersnap Juneau - and Nikki that went to The Nice Ashley - AND right now TNBL has THIS HANDSOME FELLA - Mom thinks he khould be a wooly ME - and she so hopes he'll get to be shotgun in The Zen-terra one day soon!!!

What a handsome fellow that Koda is. Paws crossed for him to find a great Forever Home soonest.

Most beautiful Pawsitioning today, Khyra!

I'm feeling better but #1 had to start out hand-feeding me this morning, before I finally realised I was hungry and it was yummy!

Woofs,
Tommy

I'm always sad to read about those that have crossed the Bridge, but knowing they are being met by other amazing dogs does help--But I'm always happy to read about the new ones that are finding their way to their forever homes here.

We hope that Koda gets to be the only transport pup one day so maybe you can ride along too.
