Saturday Sharing

Little did I realize when Mom snapped these pikhs I would have news to share on this post
I so hoped it wouldn't happen so soon - but too many times, things are out of our khontrol - no matter how hard we khross our paws and wish fur difFURent outkhomes

I'm going to let Mom say a few things now -

Thanks Khyra

We just wanted to share some news - that you might have guessed by now - I didn't want to call this Sad-ieday but it crossed our minds

As I came out of work, I saw an email on my phone with a subject line of Sadie - and I knew - before I even read it, I said no - no - not yet - but sadly, it was.  After reading Sharla's note, I sat in The Zen-terra and replied - and asked if she would like us to share the news here - since she had indicated she wasn't sure when she would be up to and ready to share it on their blog - I told her to think about it - no pressure -

She thought about it and she said yes  - so here is part of the message she sent -

Sadie told us today that it was her time to go to the Rainbow Bridge.  She wouldn't get up and come downstairs and she wouldn't eat for the last 24 hours.  She had a dazed look her in eyes, was weak and just wasn't my baby Sadie.  After we made the call to the vet she did get up and go look out the front window just out of the blue.  She went back to lay down and I told my husband how I wish she was my shadow again and followed me into the kitchen wanting food so guess what she did - yep, she followed me into the kitchen.  She hadn't done that in over a week.  We second guessed everything but then she just stood there dazed and wobbly like she wasn't in that beawootiful body and then laid down and went to sleep again so we knew it was time

Please keep Sadie's family in your thoughts - not just her parents and KHATS in Oregon - but her grandparents in Las Vegas and Kansas - they are as heartbroken as Sadie's mommy and daddy

Sharla wasn't sure when she'd have a post together for THEIR BLOG - as I wrote her, I'm sure she needs time to wrap her arms and head and heart around this -  ALTHOUGH, as I was just about to this point in putting the post together, she wrote and said she might have something up soon - I replied we'd mention that there might be a post after all - and that maybe THAT was Sadie's sign to her - helping getting the post in place!

Our candle was lit for Sadie's safe journey North of The Rainbow Bridge - she helped give Khyra some ideas for the post - and helped remind us we owe it to them to listen to their wishes when the time comes - and that it is okay to cry - and okay to miss them - and okay not to be sure what to say and what to do and how to go on - it's all part of The Circle of Life - painful though it may be -

We would like to thank Sharla and her entire family for allowing us to share Sadie's life - and we hope Sadie did send the message she's made it - and maybe even found Reebok and Panther already!

Remember, each day could be The Day - so make it KHOUNT!

I vote everyone get out for a SPECIAL SADIEDAY STROLL IN HER HONOUR!!!

Hugz&Khysses,
Khyra and Phyll

P.S. We'll have some Peregrine pics for Sunday - we wanted this post to be for Sadie

I came to see some sky shots and saw this post- so I read all the words.
I am glad I did, so I can send Sadies family some love.
It was very giving of her family to look into her eyes and see what she was looking at. (all her friends at the Rainbow Bridge.) They listened to her heart.

We are so sorry to hear this news on Sadie. Having lost our foster 1 week ago, the feeling and memories are fresh and we know the pain the family is feeling.
Your words "we owe it to them to listen to their wishes when the time comes - and that it is okay to cry - and okay to miss them - and okay not to be sure what to say and what to do and how to go on - it's all part of The Circle of Life - painful though it may be -" are some of the most thoughtful and insightful words I have read.

Godspeed Sadie, will we meet again.

hey Khyra,

I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful friend, Sadie. I sadly did not know her but after your post about her the other day and I went to her blog and pawed some words of love and support for her and her family. I am very sad Sadie is gone.

Your mom wrote a very sweet and heartwarming tribute, and included some very honest words about dealing with loss. I know us dogs always leave too soon, but we know we will see our humans again.
