Monday MOMday

But(t) furst some Merdie and Me!When we furst khame down, it was just flurrying -but it began to intensify! There had been some golfers out - one foursome khut their round short but then Mom saw this hearty soul khoming down #10
So as to not make it TOO obvious she wanted to khapture this guy having LOTS of fun,
Mom took me out fur a photoshoot - as woo khan see, even I was wondering what he was doing out there! I suggest woo bigify all the pikhs! They are khwite funny!
I'm glancing to see if there are others khoming of if he's it!
I watched him head toward the green for #11
Making sure he made it
Then I sat so I khould start khollekhting snowflakes!
It was early in the 'weather event' as woo see
I was trying to imagine lots and lots more!
And wondering when the flashie beastie would go bakhk inside
I thought this might satisify her photo needs! IT DID!
Meanwhile, bakhk in the ranch...
Bekhause it was a wet yukhky one, we didn't get a walk BUT Mom let us ride along to the grocery store! We'll be bakhk tomorrow with some more pikhs from the ride AND from what was left of the snow on Sunday morning when we got up!
I want to turn this ovFUR to Mom so she khan tell woo about Degas!!!

Thanks Khyra! Oh what to say about Degas???

The first thing is that his name is pronounced like 'what happens in, stays in' Degas!
He had been crated for some of the trip but the drivers for the leg to Hagerstown hadn't and he was fine! I offered him shotgun but he said he'd rather sleep! But before he conked out, he agreed to some pics!At the Cracker Barrel in HarrisburgI believe Tori snuck into this shot with us! After all, the leg was for her - here is the video where I mention Tori's memory!

He was stunning and sweet and kissy and so full of life! It was a true miracle he made it all the way to New Jersey for each leg's driver didn't want to pass him on! His overnight stay in Roanoke ALMOST became his furever home! Here is the note shared Saturday evening

Degas is settling in really well at my house. My husband wants to know if he has a home yet. We have 18 Dalmatians and a GSD here, as well as a couple of mixes, yet he thinks we need one more!! By the way, 13 of those Dalmatians are available for adoption!

Degas really likes the dals, wagging his tail and trying to get them all to play with him. He and Ashes have decided that rope toy tugging is a great thing to do. He is a gorgeous dog and someone is going to be getting a great new family member.

We will tuck him in bed in about an hour, but felt like he would be a good rider tomorrow if he spends a lot of energy tonight. He is a sweetheart!

Debi is a Dalmation Rescue angel - and often will host the overnight legs that pass through Roanoke!

One last shot before I closed the hatch and let Lisa chauffeur him to Allentown where he got to meet Frosty's mom!

What a pawesome tranport for a very loving pup! There are lots of pictures and videos at his Photobucket album!

Here is the link to the SLIDESHOW ON PHOTOBUCKET - the photos are in reverse order as I uploaded the videos first THEN added the pics - it was getting late in the evening AND there were LOTS of things in the GooglieReaderie SO please forgive me! The slideshow link IS in the reverse order (or at least I think it is)!

Thank you Tori for watching over us! I also spotted dozens (and I do mean plural) of hawks in the trees and in the sky (mostly red-tails)!

Thank you to all that supported and helped with Degas's transport!

PLEASE KEEP HANDSOME PRINCE FROM TEAM HUSKY IN NEW ZEALAND IN YOUR THOUGHTS - PLEASE CHECK HIS BLOG FOR THE LATEST UPDATE - HE NEEDS US TO THINK PAWSITIVELY FOR HIM!

We also need to send some words of support and comfort to Fenris and his furamily - one of his sisfurs CHARYBDIS crossed unexpectedly Sunday afternoon. Please show them some love during this difficult time.

Khyra and Merdie will back tomorrow!

  2. We were all shocked about Charbydis! You are so good about spreading news and helping wherever you can.

It's been a long, stressful day, so we're going to tuck Jan and her sick headache into bed and weigh the covers down so she can't get up until we're .. uh, until she's rested.

    Have a good night!

  3. not to sure what the white stuff is all about. But it looks like you enjoy it. Love Degas' ears - those are personality pluses. Thanks for sharing your momma to drive doggies to safety.

  5. 18 Dalmatians! That kind woman must have quite a system for telling them apart.

Degas is just stunning - once again, we are so thankful that people like your mom are out there to help with these things!

  10. Khyra,

You look so lovely with a few snowflakes on your shoulders!!!

Ah, the secret to being among the first ten or so to comment on your bloggie is to get up way too early - -- it's 6 am now -- but it was 4 am when the alarm went off so Dogdad could fly to D.C. for a few days -- where perhaps he too will have snowflakes on his shoulders.

We loved the photos of Degas -- but are sad at all the doggies who have been crossing over the Bridge.

  11. Degas, along with Qannik, all so closely resemble our Dakota. Mom got leaky watching the videos and looking at the pictures. But it wasn't all that sad - it brought a lot of smiles. One day we hope to have another white blue-eyed girl here with us again. Meanwhile we can watch Degas over and over.

Glad you got some snow. All we got overnight was rain. But they are telling us again snow tonight, rain and mix tomorrow, then snow again overnight Wed. Do they really know what it really will do?

Golf can be addicting, but that guy is ridiculous. Great pics of you and all your flake collecting.

  23. Degas is so handsome that I'm tempted to come scoop him up. I hope that he finds a wonderful forever home. Please keep us posted. Khyra - your mom is a saint of dogs, and all of us dog lovers thank her from the bottoms of our hearts.

As for the golfer, sometimes I think that people are taking photos like that of me on my bike when I'm out there in the driving snow. We all go crazy in our own ways.

I've used the 'pretend dog photo shoot' trick to try to photograph illegal hunters. The problem is that they're armed so I have to be verrrrrrry careful!
