Monday MOMday

Monday MOMday Again but furst...I set up my khommand post
and dared 'em to khome bakhk!
Dusk Sentry Duty
Befure I turn it over to Mom, I'll inkhlude THIS LINK to a video of MINE! I know it has already received the SLOBBERS Mango Seal of Approval!
Yes, Mom took The Xterra to Hagerstown Sunday to get BabyBlue and Mandy
I'll let her take the ovFUR the keyboard now:

Khyra's Mom here to tell about one of the best transports I've had the chance to do!
I'll share some pictures first and tell about the pups later in the post
Here is BabyBlue meeting a wee one at McD's - they spotted each other and were not happy until they got to meet! I have a video of it too - it was very cute!
"Hi! I'm BabyBlue!"
She was incredibly sweet!
I loved her eyes - her left one is like my Banshey's: PieEye/Confetti Eye with about 1/3 blue and 2/3 brown!
She got ride up front with me SOOOO she got the flash beast torture - especially since Mandy was crated
She slept with the console for a headrest
Khyra approved of the front paws
and the back ones too
When we got to Harrisburg, Mandy and BabyBlue shared some secrets!
And laughed about it!
Mandy having some HAPPY HEARTS!
BabyBlue had hers and was watching Mandy savour hers!
They each had three Three Cheese Squirrels!
Yum!
Mandy to BabyBlue to watch this one kid
Voila! That is how we dig!
Happy Girrls taking a stroll
Mandy flashing her smile and telling her new furever mom I'm almost there!
Just chillin' and waitin' for the next chauffeur!
BabyBlue says I have a lot to smile about too!
Sniffing FREEDOM!
Soft and Sweet!
Now on to Allentown to meet a very special Siberian Owner
Lois Linker, who is a new driver for us this weekend, and will be driving a leg has 11 Siberians. WOW!

Two of Lois' Siberians, Frankie and Travis, were on Animal Planet's Dogs 101 Saturday night. They are the dogs shown in the intro and in most of the title shots. Frankie is the one with the white head and Travis (Frankie’s son) is the one with the Dark Gray and White head. Sadly, Frankie, who was Lois's husband's best friend, died just two weeks ago. He was 10.5.
Two of their Sibes were featured in Animal Planet's Dogs 101

Now, here is some information about the girls you saw above:
When I got Blue from the AC facility she was so matted that I could not brush her out. I took her straight to my groomer and had her shaved down. She looks adorable and the loss of hair has not seemed to bother her.Blue is a digger, prefers being outside more than inside, walks pretty well on a leash and is an absolute doll. Please don't try to puppy nap her :-)
Mandy’s new mommy saved her from a shelter by asking Rotts ‘n Pups to take her into our program. Baby Blue (6 month old black and white wooly husky) is going to a foster with intent to adopt.

Here is a note the overnight host shared Sunday morning - Khyra gave BabyBlue a FLOOFY TAIL UP

The girls did great. Blue taunted my cat last night. The cat hid under a table. Blue would bark, growl and play bow at the cat. Then tear ass around the house going room to room making a lap, then right back to the cat to start it all over. What a hilarious sight. Kitty will be happy when he has his house back to himself.

Some of the transport included this handsome fella
George

Here is his tale:

Extra special thanks to the Saturday drivers and Crystal (overnighter) for saying YES to George, an adorable boxer/hound mix from SC that so desperately needed to hitch a ride with someone to Roanoke to catch his flight to his forever home on Sunday morning. It feels so good to know we were able to fill the need for his rescue to get him to his pilot - whose name, believe it or not, is ALSO George! and his forever home (his new mommy and daddy are in upstate NY). We will get the arrival time at the Roanoke airport and the plane tailwing information later tonight and I will send on to Crystal. George is completely vetted, loves to give lots of kisses, and is around 45 pounds. Crystal, he will be coming with dog food for his overnight, and, of course, his kennel goes with him to the airport and on to his new mom and dad

He had some doxie passengers along with him for the trip too!

SO, it was a very good day for ALL!

Here is the link to their Photobucket Album Slideshow

and

Here is the link to their Photobucket Videos! There are nine videos

These girls were joys to be with and I headed back to Khyra with an extra BIG smile knowing they were safe and going to be treated to a lifetime of love!

Here is part of a note Irina sent Sunday evening after she watched the videos and thanked all of us again for our work this weekend:

Both were just hours away from being killed at animal control...what a horrible loss that would have been

And then we got this note from someone on 'this' end (North) of things:

The adopter/foster were so happy! The adopter of Mandy said "I am in love with her already!" Thanks so much everyone! The family fostering Blue is sooo nice and they are planning to keep her as long as all goes well with their 2 other dogs.

Khyra will be back tomorrow to tell you about what she got to do last Friday!

  3. Every week just the same - you are a saint and a guardian angel to the animals that you transport. There is going to be a special place in heaven for you and you will ride in a chariot pulled by Sibes. I know this for a fact.

Good thing our Momster wasn't anywhere near that travel route with Mandy and Blue - they surely would never have made it to their final destination - they would be here in OP with us. What sweet pups! Thanks to your Mom for her continuing good deeds.

  14. I watched Dogs 101 on Sat. night and especially liked the segment on Sibes... they were described as "REAL dogs." What does that make the rest of us? Chopped liver? Hah

I can relate to their love of cold weather since my ancestors are from Tibet... and I kinda feel sorry for the Sibes who live in warm climates year round and don't have a sled to pull. I hope you have your own sled Khrya... do you??

Nice work guarding your tree too. Keep it up!

  63. Cherokee County shelter in GA was bombarded with owner turn ins today and didn't have room for them. They put out a call for adoptions and rescues but wonder how many responded. Too many animals without a home. These two are fortunate. And it must make your mom feel good to be a part of helping save them.
