Okay, Khyra's Mom here now!
First of all, I'd like to thank the special person in the neighbourhood that thought 3:12am was the time to send up some fireworks...it really helped with the sleep I was TRYING to get. If you were trying to time it with the official start of the summer solstice, I think you missed it by an hour and a half or so.
I mean, it even woke up The Doggy Nanny - and not much usually can wake her in the middle of the night!

So 5am came quickly but as I've seen some very wise fellow Siberian owner comment "sleep is very over-rated" I hit the road at 6am...had a beautiful red fox run across near Khyra's B&B (SPCA). The trip down I-81 to Martinsburg WV was swift and featured quite the interesting sky. I wish I could have taken pics but canine duty called!

It was a very rewarding transport. All four girls were very beautiful and quite sweet! It was really special to be there when Lizzy met her furever dad for the first time! They seemed to be quite taken with each other! I could feel the 'oh my dog, she's MINE now' feeling!

Here is the link to the Photobucket Album Because Bella was riding shotgun with me, there are more pics and videos of her.

I appreciate the nice comments you leave for Khyra. It is our way we can give back since at this time Khyra has to be an only child! With many of the shelters in the south being less than desirable, it is very rewarding to get these furry sweethearts to a great and safe furever home!

If the transports fill, I'll be doing one next Sunday (6-28) and then again Saturday (7-4). I've already asked Khyra if I may borrow her Xterra!

Happy Monday EveryBuddy!

  2. Another A+ transport job by KhyraMom!!! Who knows? Maybe one of these rescue trip will result in a new sibling so MFT won't be an only child anymore? Two's always more fun - the humans have to guess "who done it" then!

  10. Miss Khyra,
I am sorry your mom did not sleep well. I usually wake my mom up around 3AM myself since I don't always do my business at last call. Interrupted sleep make moms really grouchy.

  11. That is why we like not having neighbors! if we are disturbed at night, it is the neighborhood bear.

And, yes, the name of the Sibe we went to see was Sunshine. Does not quite have the ring of Rusty The Rooster, huh?

    Great transports!

P.S. - "Wise" not sure about, but, yes, sleep is overrated.

  12. Another fantastic job - we commend your Mom to the highest. She is so good to be so caring. We were especially attracted to Bella.

Too bad about the early wakeup call. We had that last night too as the newborn biped spent the night here with his family - no power at his house!!!

And the heat goes on - up to 81 already at 5:45 sm. Looks like it will be another long day inside.

  26. Jeez, what part of "trying to snooze" doesn't your mom understand? The "trying" or the "snooze"? Maybe the infinitive confused her ...
